Hints Of Achieving A Good Fake Tan On

By Haywood Hunter

A tanned skin always appears sexy and healthy. In the past, the trick to getting a good tan was to spend quality time outside under the sun. This is not the case anymore. Research now has it that the sun is a major cause of skin cancer. In addition, it dries the skin up, causing it to age faster. A good alternative is to get a fake tan.

If you cannot afford to get tanned in a salon, you can use your own self tanner, at least on the face. To do this, you should pull your hair up and tie it. Next, you clean and exfoliate the skin and apply under-eye cream. You then blend moisturizer and self tanner in equal portions and apply all over the neck and face. Make sure you apply just enough to give natural results.

Allow it to be absorbed and to take effect for at least a couple of hours. You can then apply the bronzer to create a natural effect on the parts that get hit by the sun most like the nose, forehead and cheeks. When applying the tanner, do not miss the earlobes and upper ears. So often people forget to do these parts and they end up looking like elves.

For the rest of your body, take the following steps. You should exfoliate the skin very well first as you take a shower. Make sure you concentrate on the elbows and knees very well. Also ensure you shave. Start by applying the tanner on your limbs first, and cover every part. After that, do your torso, hips and stomach.

Do not wash your hands after applying as this will take the tanner off the back of your hands. Instead, use a wet cloth to wipe it off your palms and in between the fingers. For extra effect, you may also use a body shimmer. Just use it on the arms and legs, the rest of the body does not really need it.

It is very important to pick the correct tanner. Several types exist, including face, airbrush, cream, enhancers or bronzing gels. A common way of getting a natural look is to apply them, with the assistance of lotion, to create a crossfade effect.

If you mess up, do not panic. Just use astringent toner or toothpaste to fix the problem. You can also exfoliate to even out parts that are patch. If the fake tan is not dark enough, just repeat the procedure.
