Different Forms of Yoga

There is not just one type of yoga, but there are many. Perhaps the reason you did not get into yoga was because you did not find one that fits you and your lifestyle.

If you are a yogi, then you know that there are many styles of yoga, and you probably have a favorite one that you do. Just as things may affect our mood, so does different forms of yoga, the color of your yoga mat, etc. All of these play into your experience. This list of yoga styles should be very helpful.

Restorative Yoga - This style of yoga is for those in need of some serious power relaxing, and not ashamed to admit it. For restorative yoga lovers, there is no guilt in shutting out the world with a lavender eye pillow and kicking back on a fluffy pile of blankets for an hour.

Power Yoga - Active styles of yoga, such as power yoga, vinyasa yoga, Ashtanga yoga, attract the spirited sorts who are looking to improve athletically, and stretch their acrobatic skills. People who gravitate toward strength-oriented yoga classes often find spiritual inspiration through physical challenges.

Iyengar Yoga - If you are into knowing everything that happens in your life on a day to day basis, a good type of yoga for you is Iyengar because of the attention to detail.

Bikram Hot Yoga - From the name I am pretty sure you already know that this style of yoga deals with practicing yoga in hot temperatures. This form of yoga is also great for those who like repetitiveness in their life. With this form of yoga you stick to the dame poses every class.

Kundalini Yoga - Kundalini yogis are fascinated with the universe within the heart, the mind, and the intellect. Devotees tend to think outside the box and are attracted by the inimitably of this style of yoga. Kundalini yogis are individualistic, yet open to being presented unique perspectives on life.
