Why Non-Invasive Procedures are Popular

By Brentz Walker

Non-invasive procedures have been rising lately according to statistics. Surgeries like breast augmentations and tummy tucks remain popular, but procedures that do not involve going under the knife are rapidly gaining in popularity. In cosmetic surgery, non-invasive procedures are typically performed via injection or laser. There are many causes of the acceleration.

Following a recent cosmetic procedure, there are 2 choices to pick from. Healing alone where no one can see you is one choice. The other choice is that you go out and then run the risk that your recent procedure will be noticed by someone. You could keep it a secret from all, but it usually is not the best idea.

On the other hand, non-invasive procedures are pretty hard to notice when done well. Sometimes people may sense something has changed about you, but can't quite pinpoint what it is. When discretion is a concern, a non-invasive option like this is a good choice.

Healing alone at home is not an option many of us have, due to time constraints. The idea that you can schedule a non-invasive procedure on a Friday afternoon and return to work on Monday is extremely appealing. There are more complex procedures in cosmetic surgery that are nowhere near as quick and simple as these non-invasive choices. The fact that it doesn't take much time makes it so that a patient can slip in for a fast Botox treatment at lunch time. A laser treatment on your day off is always a better use of your time than taking several vacation days to recuperate from a physically exhausting surgical procedure.

Any cosmetic surgery has inherent risks. Of the risks involved, the largest is with the general anesthesia that is used. Adverse reactions have been known to happen, and at times, they can be more severe. The patient is required to sign a waiver because of this. Instead, many patients are opting for simple, in-office procedures that are non-invasive and do not use general anesthesia are considerably safer.

Because of a variety of factors, including the fact that there seems to be a recession going on, non-invasive procedures have been going up, and more serious cosmetic surgeries are going down. The long and short of it is, it's less expensive to have a non-invasive procedure done. In most cases, a health plan will not pay for a cosmetic procedure; as these are elective surgeries. Many people need to save up for a procedure and, when the economy is tight, they may feel more comfortable setting that money aside for other needs.

Conversely, the price of a non-invasive procedure will not be nearly as high. A treatment of a Botox injection will be about ten minutes long, but often it makes the patient as satisfied as a more expensive face lift. It makes sense to have a non-invasive procedure when money is tight, as it's effective and works well.

Non-invasive procedures can be every bit as noticeable as the expensive surgical options. The point behind having anything like this performed is to look younger and more refreshed. For those who would like to get rid of unsightly lines on their forehead or want some hair added, great benefits can be gained from a non-invasive procedure. Non-invasive procedures require much less risk, no general anesthesia, and can be performed in as little as 10 minutes. Often, the patient can go right back to the job. A lot of people see the benefit of getting great results, but having it be affordable and the recovery process much easier than more serious cosmetic surgery. Non-invasive procedures are becoming more popular all the time, and those are some of the major reasons for this.
